This page lists every source behind everything on this site, who published it, and how much weight it carries. It matters because a number without a source is just an opinion with a decimal point.

The short version

Nine sources. Six are government primary sources, two are named journalism and one is a dated Google scrape. Government beats portals, portals beat blogs, and a land seller is never a source for a number. When two sources disagree we print both.

What this page is

Every source this site uses, in one table, with the publisher named and the class stated. If a figure appears anywhere on the site, it came from one of these.

The sources

Every source used on this site, with its publisher and its class. Government primary sources beat portals, portals beat blogs, and a land seller is not a source for a number. Status: as classed in each row.

How we class a source

Official primary means a government body published it. Reported journalism means a named publisher reported it, and we print the publisher's name beside the figure so you can weigh it yourself. Reported, point in time means it was true on the day it was read and may not be true now, which is how every Google rating on this site is labelled.

A plot seller's blog is not a source for a number, and no figure on this site rests on one. Where the only figure available comes from a seller, we leave the cell blank rather than fill it.

When sources disagree

We print both and say they disagree. The clearest example on this site is the size of Dholera itself: one source gives 360 square kilometres and the government's own progress reporting gives a planned area of 920. We do not average them, we do not pick the bigger one, and the page that carries them shows both with both publishers named.

Sources

  • Census of India 2011, Village Directory for Ahmadabad district, Gujarat, published by the Office of the Registrar General and Census Commissioner, India. censusindia.gov.in catalogue 405. Local extract: 72 village records, 396 columns, taken 4 August 2026. Status: OFFICIAL.
  • Annual Statement of Rates, edition ASR-2011 Final, agricultural land, Ahmedabad district, issued by the Superintendent of Stamps, Gandhinagar, Gujarat State, in force from 18 April 2011. Published on garvi.gujarat.gov.in. Source document AHMEDABAD-AGRI.pdf, 1,431 pages, with Dhandhuka taluka on pages 445 to 629. Local extract: 2,764 rate rows across 69 villages, taken 4 August 2026. Status: OFFICIAL.

Every figure on this page was computed at build time from the extract named above, not typed in by hand. Where the source records nothing, the cell reads UNKNOWN rather than a guess. We do not sell land and nobody can pay to change a position in any list here.
